BIOS: How can we cultivate plants in the future?

Because we understood the speed with which we are destroying the ecosystem, we proposed a solution: to bring exotic plants into our homes and treat them as if they were pets!

This device houses biomasses with real vegetation that belong to any ecosystem present on the planet.

You can have and cultivate any kind of plant in what will become your miniature garden.

BIOS is purchased as a biodegradable packaging that, when activated, releases the substances that generate a unique microclimate for the plants and ecosystem that you have chosen.

The content will allow you to modify the climatic conditions for your micro plants and thus diffuse them in any context, even on Mars.

They are acquired as a substrate that, when activated and put into the device, facilitates the growth of biomasses.

In the piece of glass, the ideal temperature is controlled from micro resistors powered by solar energy.

On the front wall of the device, the temperature can be increased or decreased, the relative humidity, the CO2 concentrations and other gases can be checked, allowing the small ecosystem to exchange and generate special conditions according to their origin and enabling the introduction and controlled extraction of environmental gases.

Water and nutrients are deposited in the space around the piece of glass, and they reach the substrate thanks to the technological glass with which BIOS is manufactured, since this is able to control the level of permeability, capillarity, light passage and roughness. Bios recreates part of the vegetation of bryophytes belonging to each of the ecosystems.

These vegetables are very primitive and are characterized by lack of stem, roots, conductive vessels, flowers, and fruits, and by their reproduction by spores. Instead of roots, these plants have organs called rhizoids, with which they cling superficially to the substrate, and that is why it says that mosses do not "root."

Another important characteristic is their dual function: one part of moss is photosynthetic, and a second part, which produces spores, parasitic. One of the main advantages of these plants is that despite not being large, many keep the appearance of real "trees," which makes them visually attractive.

The plants that are generated in BIOS are part of the main biomes of the planet: Ice Desert, Tundra, Taiga, Tempered deciduous, Temperate steppe, Subtropical forest, Mediterranean, Monsoon forest, Desert, Xerophytic shrub, Dry prairie, Semidesert, Herbaceous savanna, Wooded savanna, Subtropical dry forest, Rain forest, Alpine tundra, and Montane forest.
